Quanum QFX flight controller is actually an IFly-V4M

December 20, 2013 13:46 | By | 7 Comments

Hobbyking is selling the Quanum QFX, a new multirotor flight controllerĀ  with GPS for a mere $120. Among the usual fare are GPS position hold and return-to-home, 2-axis gimbal output and PPM/SBUS support. It looks a lot like a Naza but it’s actually a rebranded IdeaFly V4M flight controller as can be confirmed by comparing the PC software and the manuals.

As such it shares the limited angular sensing rate of 200 degrees/s as well as the limited PC setup program – then again, it does let you tweak a bit more than the DJI Naza software. According to our information this is the same FC as installed in the IdeaFly Apollo.

What is the difference compared to the Naza Lite with GPS?

    • fpvcentral says:

The Naza Lite supports a higher ESC update frequency (400Hz vs. 330Hz), but the IFLY/Quanum QFX has an additional “altitude hold only” mode that the Naza lacks. Both support GPS position hold, return home as well as autolevel and manual flight modes. The Naza, like most of DJI’s products, is more expensive. However more people use DJI than IFly so you’re more likely to be able to get help if you run into troubles.

This does not appear to be available any longer?

    Hi There,

I have a Quanum QFX + GPS Autopilot controller, for some reason it doesn’t recolonize the usb driver once plug in. How do I get the driver for this model.

  4. Geoff says:

    Hi James

I got one of these and had problems with it so I haven’t done any thing with it until now and I cannot find the disc that went with it.

Could you email the tools file.
I printed off the manuals and still have them so its only the tools 1.7 that I need.

The instruction calls to use Quanum4tools.exe is this the same as 1.7 on the disc.
Your assistance will be much appreciated

    Thanks Geoff
