Wireless power transmission for quadrotors

Want to fly your quadcopter indefinitely, recharging it in the air? Inductive power transmission is an old hat, but the drawback is short transmission range. Magnetic resonance however works at more realistic ranges of about 1 meter, depending on scale. Dr. Carrick Detweiler wrote a paper on a similar subject, though in this case the idea is to power small sensors from a nearby quadcopter.


The problem is that small sensors need very little power, while mid-sized multicopters are difficult to supply with sufficient energy wirelessly. Nethertheless, an interesting subject considering that automated multicopters could remotely activate and power systems via proximity.
